Installation

Installing for Claude Desktop

Option 1: One-Command Installation

npx mcpbar@latest install ShenghaiWang/xcodebuild -c claude

This command will automatically install and configure the xcodebuild MCP server for your selected client.

Option 2: Manual Configuration

Run the command below to open your configuration file:

npx mcpbar@latest edit -c claude

After opening your configuration file, copy and paste this configuration:

    • folder (string, required): The full path of the current folder that the iOS Xcode workspace/project sits
  • test - Run test for iOS Xcode workspace/project
    • folder (string, required): The full path of the current folder that the iOS Xcode workspace/project sits

Installation

When using uv no specific installation is needed. We will use uvx to directly run mcpxcodebuild.

Using PIP

Alternatively you can install mcpxcodebuild via pip:

pip install mcpxcodebuild

After installation, you can run it as a script using:

python -m  mcpxcodebuild
