Installing for Claude Desktop

Option 1: One-Command Installation

npx mcpbar install sammcj/mcp-llm -c claude

This command will automatically install and configure the LLM Server MCP server for your selected client.

Option 2: Manual Configuration

Installation

Installing via Smithery

To install LLM Server for Claude Desktop automatically via Smithery:

Manual Install From Source

  1. Clone the repository
  2. Install dependencies:
npm install
  1. Build the project:
npm run build
  1. Update your MCP configuration

Using the Example Script

The repository includes an example script that demonstrates how to use the MCP server programmatically:

node examples/use-mcp-server.js

This script starts the MCP server and sends requests to it using curl commands.

The generate_code_to_file tool supports both relative and absolute file paths. If a relative path is provided, it will be resolved relative to the current working directory of the MCP server.
